Tokyo Nozzle-Misaki Manufactory's Declaration on SDGs

Quality maintenance can maintain and improve the performance and quality of products, and extend the life of the products themselves. Effective use of limited resources is our raison d’etre and has become part of our DNA. We will contribute to the future of our customers, society, and the earth by expanding the possibilities and excellence of “maintenance services” and “manufacturing.”
The pursuit of maintenance technology is never-ending. Demands for maintenance services are becoming more diverse as the engines and driving forces of ships are also becoming increasingly diverse. For many years, Tokyo Nozzle has facilitated the safe navigation of ships and the safe operation of plants as a maintenance and repair specialist, flexibly responding to a variety of needs. We will continue to be a company that is sought after by our customers, and in order to continue to ensure the safety of our customers and the future of the earth, we will continue to contribute to society by improving our technology and quality and by emphasizing the “Tokyo Nozzle-ness” of our company.

Maintaining and improving technology to meet difficult requests

Increasing the number of in-house experts to more than
50% of the workforce by 2030.

We have facilitated engine maintenance for ships and land-based facilities throughout Japan for more than half a century since our founding. Our spirt comes from the passion of each and every person involved in maintenance and machining. This is what produces reliable quality. We feel responsible for ensuring the safety of our customers through maintenance and repair. This is the DNA of Tokyo Nozzle, and it is something important that we should continue to pass on to future generations.
We believe that our mission is to improve the quality and skills of the entire industry by introducing and certifying a system of in-house experts and fostering personnel with advanced expertise, a sense of responsibility, and pride.

A mentally and physically healthy company with well-adjusted working patterns

A workplace where everyone can achieve a work-life balance and implement well-adjusted working patterns.

The distinctive feature of our maintenance services is that we respond flexibly to the needs of our customers with our technology and experience. This includes the know-how of craftsmen, such as fine tactile sensations that cannot be converted into data.In order to offer services that only we can provide, we need to be in good physical and mental health. We work hard when we work and rest when we rest. We believe that such a working pattern leads to quality services. In order to achieve even greater heights as an outstanding technical group, we must create a system that allows employees to be recognized for their efforts, and we must also improve conditions within the company. This is our top priority.
We will create a workplace where everyone can work in that manner and feel that they are recognized.

Expanding our technology to accommodate environmentally friendly engines

We aim to achieve a repair performance rate of at least 20% for environmentally friendly engines (such as those running on ammonia)

Our maintenance services involve our high level of maintenance technology as well as our ability to make proposals that meet the needs of our customers by procuring the necessary parts and repairing them in-house to extend the service life of the vehicle. To achieve this, we need to constantly study the advancement of engines and be ready to respond flexibly.
In the future, the number of environmentally friendly engines to achieve decarbonization will steadily increase. Their maintenance is still unknown. That is why we are always ready to provide technical services that meet the needs of the times and respond to unexpected problems by making the most of our experience, manufacturing ideas, and quality.

We have identified our key
issues and materialities.

We have identified the materiality of the SDGs in the SDG Declaration we have devised. The SDGs, the Paris Agreement, and the social issues that the company is addressing were identified, mapped on the two axes of importance to the company and the impact on stakeholders, and analyzed. The upper right of the matrix represents our materiality and was finalized through conversations with and validation by external experts.
